Thank you. I needed guidance so I prayed and I found your blog/site and now I know my heart needed to be healed and humbled to do God's work. I must forgive myself and others and write my story to praise God.

Tim

Praise the Lord. You never know who or what God is going to use to speak to us. I am blessed to know God used what I wrote to speak to you. God is amazing and worthy of all glory and honor.

Scarlett, I pray for continued guidance and great blessings in your life.

Felix

Dear Tim,
Greetings to you in the name of Jesus, and thanks to God who has given you the wisdom to write such inspiring words on your blog. People write a lot and what they write are God's answers to other people's questions. And so what you wrote on your blog here about honoring God has asnswered a question that was in my mind: "how do we honor God?" This question arose as i was reading the Bible today. I was reading Romans, that is Paul's letter to the Romans. As i was reading chapter one verses 16 through 21, where paul highligted to the Romans the importance of the gospel of Christ which he Paul was eager to preach, i came over verse 21 which says,"for although they (ungodliness) knew God they did not HONOR him as God..." That's where the question came up my mind, "how do we HONOR God?" I made a google search and it brought me to your blog. Thanks again for the bog.
Felix.

Tim

Felix,

I am glad God used this blog to speak to you. It is always encouraging to hear when God uses us. I pray you will honor God in your life. Blessings.

Hello Tim
May God grant you your heart desire for your commitment in him as part of what he had commanded us to do. I needed guidance so I prayed and I found your blog/site. I want you to pray with me asking God to revival my faith. I want God to give me the grace to be committed, focus, patient and to have faith in him. God bless you.

Charles

Tim

Charles,

I will join with you in prayer for grace to be committed, focused, patient, and to have faith in God. I believe your prayer requests demonstrate how strong your faith already is. As I was praying for you I thought about Solomon when he prayed for wisdom to be used by God. God gave him the opportunity to ask for anything with the assurance that God would honor his request. Instead of requesting wealth or fame or other selfish requests he asked for wisdom to rule in a way that honored God. God granted his request for wisdom and also gave him the wealth and fame also. I believe God is pleased with your desire to honor Him and will surely grant your requests. I believe God will also bless you in other ways because of your humble desire to place him first and honor him above all else.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about this blog. May God's richest blessings be yours as you seek to serve him with your whole heart.

Dawn

I heard something in a recent message at church and it touched me deeply. It was about God adopting us into His family and that He loved us so much that He was willing to risk His reputation on us. My immediate thought was how much I wanted to honor Him with my life and never be a "risk" to God's reputation. It has been weighing on me all week and I decided to search the word honor and found this site. I am eager to learn so much about ways to honor my God. In my childhood I was forced to learn the word "obey" but never had the chance to "honor". Since I am a child of God I want to learn how to honor my Father. :)

Tim

Dawn,

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts.

I'm glad to hear you are focusing on honoring God in your life, and I know God is pleased with your decision. Living a life that honors God is a daily path that is challenging but so worth all the effort. My prayer is that you will grow in your desire and ability to honor God.

God bless you and your family.

Eunike

Hi Tim, my name is Eunike and I am from Indonesia. In my devotional time this morning, Holy Spirit reminded me of the word "Honor". I tried to look for verses from the bible and searched it from internet, then it brought me to your page. To honor God it starts from our heart and it reflects from our words and actions. I just want you to know that I am blessed with your posts about honoring God. Thank you so much and God bless you!

Tim

Eunike,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. I am always encouraged when I read the comments of people who share what God is doing in their lives--especially about honoring God since that is dear to my heart. Also, it is a blessing to know God has used something I wrote to encourage you. I pray you will be blessed as you continue to pursue your goal of honoring God. God is truly, worthy of all honor and glory.

Tim's Recommended Books, Videos, and Study Materials

A Simplified Harmony of the Gospels is a great resource for studying the Gospels. I use it frequently and highly recommend it. Another plus is it is easy on the budget. Well worth the price.

The Thompson Chain Reference is an excellent study tool. I bought my first copy of it in 1984. It was my first leather bound, "preaching Bible." The Chain reference is such a wonderful study tool. I highly recommend it." -Tim

This guide to prayer is a little formal for some but I have found it to be a great resource for my personal devotions. I need something to help me keep my mind focused and guide works well for me. Suggested Bible readings in this guide follow the Common Lectionary which will allow you to study all parts of the Bible. I highly recommend this to any serious student of the Bible.

A Celebration of Discipline is a wonderful study through the many practices of Christian, spiritual devotion. Richard Foster really opens the door to a more complete understanding of these disciplines. Even though you may never participate in some of these it is great to learn about them. I highly recommend this book.

The Visual Bible - Matthew is incredible. The first time I saw it I watched all 4 hours straight through in one sitting. It made quite an impression on me. I recommend it.

Something to Sing About is my favorite of the evangelistic movies presented by Billy Graham. It is a good family movie.

The Road to Redemption is a great story and a fun family movie. This is one of the evangelistic movies presented by Billy Graham.

Facing the Giants and Flywheel are two of my favorite movies. They both have great stories which present the Gospel of Jesus in the lives of two very different men, but, in both, God is honored. You need to watch these if you haven't already seen them.

Praying God's Word by Beth Moore is an incredible book. I frequently use it in my personal prayer life and have for years.
